What is the enrollment procedure? |

Please make an appointment for a meeting with us. We will provide you with an introduction to our school and our teaching style, what we can offer you, and what makes Language World different from other language schools. Afterwards, there will be an individual language assessment through an interview with our teacher. During the interview, we will find out what your language level is, what your goals are, and if you have any special requests. Afterwards, we will introduce to you the available courses and schedule them according to your needs/preferences. You can raise any questions with us at any time during the meeting. Finally, after the appointment, it is entirely up to you whether you would like to sign up for our courses or not. |

Is there any trial lesson? What does it involve? |

Language World can provide a free trial lesson at any time after the interview and level check. The trial lesson is a private 30-minute session. |

After the interview and demonstration lesson, can I take some time to think it over before enrollment? |

About the Lessons

What can I do if I do not know which course I should enroll in? |

Our counselor will first listen to your study goals and targets. Then, you will go through a language level assessment. After completing the level check, your starting point and goals will become clear. You can then decide to enroll in the most suitable course for you. |

When can I start the lesson? |

After the interview, you can start your lesson as soon as the following week. Private lesson availability may differ according to group lesson schedule. |

What kind of study materials will be used in the lesson? |

Language World has prepared the most suitable study materials for our students. However, please feel free to let us know if you would still prefer to use other materials for private lessons or corporate training. |

What should I do if I feel uncomfortable and embarrassed when speaking in front of other students? |
|

It is normal to feel nervous in the beginning. Our teachers are experienced in nurturing students of different characters and backgrounds. They will adjust the lesson to a pace at which all students will feel relaxed and comfortable. |

How long does it take to achieve advanced level? |

Every student has different starting point and target destination. However, Language World can assist students to achieve their goals up to 50% faster compared to many other schools. |

What is the youngest age to be accepted for enrollment at Language World? |

We accept students from 3 years old or above. |
About the teachers

Can I choose teacher? |

All of our teachers are very experienced and well-qualified. However, it is possible to choose a teacher that suits your preference. |

If I do not speak any English (Cantonese / Mandarin), how can I communicate with the teacher? |

Most teachers are bilingual. They are trained to teach language lessons to non-native students. Also, our multilingual staff would be happy to assist you at any time. |
About the fees

Besides the tuition fee, are there any other fees? |
|

|
There is an enrollment fee of $500. Textbook fee is varied according to different courses. |

What are the payment methods? |

We accept payment by cash or cheque. |
About the contract
|

Can I terminate the contract at anytime? |
|

|
The contract can be terminated if you have to return to your own country or relocate to another country. The remaining tuition will be refunded. |

Can I change the lesson time or course after commencement of the lesson? |

Yes, absolutely. |

Can I take a leave? |
|
A
|
Yes. There is a deferment option for each 6-month contract. If we are notified of any short term leaves at least one day in advance, we can arrange for make-up lessons. |
About the School System

What if I have difficulties attending regular lessons fixed at the same time every week? |

If there are sudden cases where you cannot attend regular lessons, we could arrange alternative make-up lessons. |

How can I apply to use the make-up lesson? Is there any limitation? |

You can apply to use make-up lessons when a minimum of 1 day advance notice is given to us. The maximum number of make-up lessons varies according to the length of your contract. |
About the Courses

Are there any courses to help me prepare for language proficiency tests? |

Yes. We provide exam prep courses such as TOEIC and IELTS. |

TOEIC ® Courses are mainly for students at which language level? |

Most of them are at Intermediate level. |

Are there any short term courses? |
|

Yes, we have short term intensive courses (24 lessons in 3 months). We can also custom design a special course for you if you can provide us with more information about your target and schedule. |
